A Cheesy Beginning

Plant based cheeses you’d never think are plant based. Rebel Cheese is passionate about the environment and where/how they source their products. Owners Kirsten Maitland and Fred Swar traveled the world to indulge in vegan delicacies and brought their love of vegan food to ATX. And Rebel Cheese was born! Plant based food positively impacts health, helps to improve animal welfare, and reduce our impact on the planet. And it tastes good too!

Cheese is a science as much as it is art. The experience of plant-based cheeses is unique and one people should shy away from less. From cashews to coconuts these nuts can disguise themselves in luscious textures and respond well to the processes used to recreate your favorite dairy staples.


High in protein, ZERO cholesterol and perfect for those who are lactose intolerant. A lot of people deem vegan cheeses not as easy to melt, not full of flavor or just not as good as the dairy stuff. Rebel cheeses challenges that, their 2 dozen house made cheeses are made similarly to dairy cheeses, brine and all. Grate it. Melt it. Slice it. Spread it. Snack on it.
