ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Coffee Chaos

The environmental impact of coffee is one that is present everyday around the globe. For the morning warriors to the late night laborers coffee tends to be the crutch we lean on in times of need. Because it is so widely loved the waste is unreal, between the amount of water used to grow the beans, the increasing amount of deforestation to produce more beans, to the billions of single use plastic coffee cups tossed each year. Most plastic coffee cups have a toxic plastic coating on them contaminating our landfills and outliving everyone on this planet. We want to provide you with the highest quality coffee without putting our earth at risk more than we already have.

SUSTAINABILITY

What does fair trade really mean?

Many of us have probably heard and seen the term fair trade, but do you really grasp what it means and the importance it holds? Many family farms around the world have been producing crops with hundreds of years of traditional practices that we get to enjoy everyday. But because they do not have direct market access they often sell their high quality products for less. Fair trade certification ensures that the farmers are getting paid as they should and that the conditions they work in are livable and the community benefits from the work they do. Fair trade certification requires environmentally sustainable farming practices that protect farmers' health and preserve precious ecosystems for future generations. And if a farm cannot do that themselves this certification aids them in attaining the necessary methods to achieve a sustainable farm.
